Punto Fijo / Paraguaná
Operations at Amuay and Punta Cardón terminals, home to the world's largest refinery complex.
Terminals at this port
Punto Fijo and the Paraguaná Peninsula host the world's largest refinery complex by processing capacity. Amuay Refinery, together with Cardón Refinery, form the Paraguaná Refining Center (CRP), capable of processing more than 900,000 barrels of crude daily. This mega-industrial structure includes specialized maritime terminals for receiving imported crudes and exporting refined derivatives, as well as hydrocarbon storage and distribution facilities.
The Amuay, Punta Cardón, and Guaranao terminals form an integrated port system that handles everything from VLCC and ULCC supertankers to product and bulk vessels. The strategic location at Venezuela's western end, close to international navigation routes and the waters of the Gulf of Venezuela, allows ship-to-ship (STS) transfer and bunkering operations in offshore waters. The complex features the largest onshore storage capacity in South America.
Navieramar has operated in Punto Fijo since 2002, providing specialized agency at each terminal in the Paraguaná complex. Our agents know PDVSA's specific procedures for receiving vessels at Amuay and Cardón, as well as international regulations that apply to operations in this high-activity oil zone. We offer protecting agent services for international shipowners who require neutral representation.
