Puerto La Cruz

Puerto La Cruz is Venezuela's main oil port and the most important in Latin America. Located in Anzoátegui State, this port complex houses the José Terminal, which processes approximately 70% of the country's crude oil exports. The facilities include cryogenic terminals for LNG and LPG, as well as infrastructure for handling heavy and extra-heavy crude from eastern Venezuelan oil fields.

The city of Puerto La Cruz has historically been the nerve center of Venezuela's oil industry. With over 40 years of uninterrupted operations, the port complex has served more than 15,000 tanker vessels, including VLCC and ULCC supertankers of up to 300,000 gross tons. The facilities feature state-of-the-art loading systems, onshore and subsea storage, and rail and road connections that ensure the constant flow of hydrocarbons to international markets.
